Small businesses have faced one of the most challenging periods in history during the Covid 19 outbreak and there are still tough times ahead. Small shops and market traders will be coming together this month for the October Fiver Fest event from October 10th-24th organised by Totally Locally.
The Totally Locally Fiver Fest is a big celebration of Britain’s fantastic small businesses and shops, many run by families or individuals, but ALL contributing massively to the economy of the UK and the wellbeing of our towns.
The last national Fiver Fest in February saw over 100 towns and thousands of independent businesses joining the promotion.
Local independent shops and businesses in Ashton Town Centre will be taking part in the Totally Locally National Fiver Fest this October. The event is centred around the powerful £5 message to encourage spend at local independent businesses. If every adult in Ashton spent £5 per week with local shops that would mean £9.4m going into the local economy every year! Ashton has lots of small businesses around the Old Town area and in the Market Hall, they need your support. Many of them will have special £5 offers on for the event so be sure to visit the town and see what a fiver will buy for you! Tameside Markets are also supporting this event recognising the importance of supporting their independent retailers.
