Memory Lane – Part five

A walk in the past…

A click through the image archive of Tameside Council reveals some great moments captured from our towns over the years. Enjoy our step through times gone by…

Here we have a fascinating image from Stalybridge in the early 1980’s highlighting Grosvenor Square showing Lipton’s supermarket along with the Cellar 5 off licence.

Top Mossley now around 1967 showing Lees Road at Brookbottom, with James Duckworth`s Grocers and Mossley Relay.

In Hyde construction of Clarendon Square is seen here in the 1990’s plus a snap of the old fountains in the late 1980’s along with some market hustle and bustle from 1959.

Droylsden’s Market Street next from Greenside Lane looking south, showing Johnson’s Cleaners, Fred Dawes, Cotton Tree, Co-op, Precinct. The second image showing Market Street from Greenside Lane looking south showing the Quality Shop (newsagent), Quality Workshop, David`s, Nutt`s Iron Monger`s and the Co-op. No date with these, anyone remember when?
